How well do you think the coaching staff did with assessing and signing of the best talent in the State?

I understand losing Reed.

I am curiuos if we let Texas A&M and Arky come in and snatch some good kids. That could be starts at the next level.

Ivan Robinson DT Texas A&M
Brandon Joackson DT Texas A&M
William Russ K Texas
Curtis Carter ATH TCU
Carvin Johnson DB Michigan
Urell Johnson DB Texas Tech
Walker Ashburn DE Nebraska

Our staff does an excellent job with evaluating so I trust there decision and i am quite proud of this class. But I support LA as well. Did we miss on anybody? Should we have signed any of these guys.

ill take the DT's and DB's we have over any of those on that list. If we didnt get THE WING than Russ but thats it.

I wasn't very impressed with Ivan Robinson. No offense to the guy, I'm just not a fan

Brandon Jackson is not flashy but I think he's good for what he is..he's not a penetrator but he'll be a solid nose guard. I wouldn't have complained if we landed him because we could use a little bulk inside, but we sholdn't sweat it either.

Curtis Carter is a hell of an athlete. There was a time when I was hoping LSU would take a shot on him just for his speed but idk. TCU's got something to mold there, I think.

We will find out in about 2 years are so.
Every school will lose out on a player that will turn out to be better then some of the ones they signed.

Based on film and combine results(which is mostly what recruiting sites use) I would not take any of these guys over the players who did sign with the Tigers. Carter may have the most upside on that list but I don't think he rates more of a look than say, Simon or Williams.

Watched him a couple times this past season and I thought he was an ok player..He played in a weaker 2A district.

Good players who could have contributed at LSU. The OOS guys we got are upgrades, at least based on films. Copeland was a late bloomer or he would have been 5-stars.

We have lots of kickers now. Wing is a P, which we needed more. I agree with the poster who said that if we missed on Wing, we could have taken Russ no problem. He's going to make lots of big kicks for the Longhorns, no doubt.

I really like Curtis Carter. However, we weren't going to take Gore, Fobbs and Carter. Probably a "pick the two you like", with Gore more clearly a RB, and Fobbs a WR/DB, but all three with similar skill sets.

Both players (Carvin especially) were underrated, in my opinion, but neither would warrant selection over Mathieu, Simon and/or Vinson. That's as good a group of DBs as we've grabbed in a while. Just so many scholarships to go around.

Either Kendrick Adams or Jordan Allen is an upgrade. The only knock is that Adams will only have two years in the system.

Thats good feedback. I feel you on the Carter thing reminds me of last year with the Kenny bell thing. We had Calhoun and Shep plus we a short commitment from Wooten.

I like Russ and Jackson maybe because I graduated from ECA. Russ could have came on Baseball schollie huh? He is a 4 star Baseball player.

A DB's is a tough one but i like the crop we got.

Also, Byran Jones. He does live in Louisiana even though he went to high school in Arkansas.

a lot of good under the radar talent. we got the guys we wanted in state outside of reed. blue, williams, and welter are just a few of the guys who will surprise most when they step onto campus. they did a good job grabbing the out of state talent this year and getting the athletes they wanted from LA.

Eric Thomas signed with Southern. Apparently his grades are not in very good shape so he didn't get many D-1 offers.

I'm more worried about Bama and Auburn then Texas A&M and Arkansas. The aggies are much more worried about us heading into Houston and Dallas then them heading into Louisiana
