Houston Inner-Loop Prices

Anyone here familiar with the pricing outlook on Houston inner loop residential real estate? More specifically, free standing homes (house with 7-10k SF lot, not a townhome) in the southwest side of Houston.
My wife and I are looking to purchase our first home there, but we're hesitant because we haven't really noticed a decline in asking prices.
Any advice out there is greatly appreciated.

You may have to be a little more specific. There's River Oaks, West U, Southside Place, Bellaire, Memorial, Rice Military, Montrose, etc.

I bought a new free standing home in Musuem District Jan 08. I got $120k off initial asking price. There are some good deals out there but the inner loop (from what I noticed before I bought) doesnt fluctuate as much as the other areas.

We're particularly interested in the Braes Heights, Knollwood Village, and Afton Oaks areas.

I wouldn't expect anything in the loop to have a drastic price reduction. Its pretty well insulated from other housing trends. HAR.com was our favorite when looking.

quote:Find out the zip codes of those areas and check out HAR.com, as the previous poster recommended. Great site.
