They are doing it because much like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton , people realized that a racket could be run on pushing this BS and they created an entire curriculum flush with graduate level degrees that churns out people that otherwise would be unemployable in traditional business functions. Jimmy Carter being involved should have told you years ago that this org was eventually going to collapse into itself like a black hole. You shouldn't waste another moment of your precious time for them.
Every single one should find something worthy to do with their time instead. If HFH wants new houses, they can magically Wakanda them into existence from now on.

I lived in Americus, GA, for a while (Habitat HQ). I was done with them after seeing the condition of the house just a year or so after working on it.
I can also attest to not being able to recall any person of color at all on the volunteer teams I was a part of.
I volunteered for another organization for veterans, and it was the same way. Easily 75% were white men. White privilege to have all that free time to volunteer, I guess?
Visit the homeowner. Scope the work. Detail supplies needed. Solicit donations. Solicit volunteers. Organize the workday from tasks to lunches and running to store for supplies. Out of pocket for extras. Cleanup afterward when many volunteers left. Visiting homeowner afterward and making final tweaks that volunteers missed.

Are you just triggered by the word "diversity?" That email seems to be more directed at your experience with HfH management, not about diversity of volunteers.

The entire Virginia gubernatorial election was centered on DEI teaching.

Then got this email message today saying they need to be more diverse. I guess they don't want my volunteer time (away from my famoly) anymore because it isn't diverse enough.
