there is a great video on that you tube cop activity channel. Middle eastern fella owns a high end shop somewhere in the US and has the metal grate doors shut because of looting (dont know town). Some clowns take a stolen van and back it over the pollards (those concrete poles) in front of the store and smash open the gates (took three running tries) far enough for some of their hooligan friends to come in.

While this is going on you see the owner behind the counter at the back of the store with a loaded handgun on the counter. Just said fck it, goes to the back of the store and comes back with an AR-15 just as the bandits are making their way in, put a few bullets in them before they could crawl back out.

Which is exactly why the swath of mayhem and anarchy in the Bay Area is so wide. CA Cops: "Honey, pack up the kids -- we're moving to Texas!"
