For fricks sake. I get where they are coming from, but you can't say something is final until the paperwork has been drafted and it matches everything you've talked about. That's why saying there won't be paperwork until the deal is done is contradictory. You can't have a deal done without it being on paper and matching what you've talked about. It would be more accurate to state that the preliminary talks have been agreed upon and the deal being done is pending paperwork being signed. The gif I posted that started this was mostly a joke because the comment didn't exactly make sense. It's really not that serious.

You have an agreement in principal in terms of salary, bonuses, and expectations from both sides before you ever draft contracts. A contract drafted before those agreements are a complete waste of time and money.
