The only thing wrong with Napier is that he's only built one program. It's the Curley Hallman risk factor.

But Woodward has done this for a long time and he knows what he's looking for. If he decides on Napier there is every reason to believe he'll do well.

There are very few coaches in LSU's hiring history who have been approached and/or offered by other SEC and major schools. That would put Napier on the high end of what we traditionally take.

He was part of multiple team builds though. To me when I look at the Jay Johnson hire I see either Napier, Aranda, or Campbell. Honestly, can probably get Napier for the cheapest of them all.

Disagree. Billy Napier has won 4 division titles in 4 years and is on the verge of 40 victories in 4 years. He’s coached & learned from Dabo & Saban. Those 2 clearly have not only the coaching part figured out but how to sustain culture as well.
The dude is going to win wherever he goes. A Tom Herman, Curly Hallman he is not.

Hallman went 23-11 in 3 years at USM.
