I get when doctors hit unexpected things with patients, i just take first appointment to avoid this best i can, but i just came for damn MRI.

Are you at the doctors office or an imaging/radiology center?

If you’ve never had one

Most MRIs aren’t quick...

I’ve had 10 in the last 2yrs and they all lasted about 30-40 minutes...

Find better doctors. I never wait anywhere, GP or Specialist except when they are fitting me in.

Says the 25 year old living with parents…,that has been in less than a dozen fist fights, never been shot at, stabbed or anything dangerous. (lol)

Unfortunately, getting old requires a lot more doctors visits for most people in development countries. It just seems to be a ridiculously inept system that waste everyone’s time very inefficiently and probably makes people sick. (i didn’t see a doctor for years at a time when i was in my 20s either btw)

I thought so too. Double checked with a female work friend and she said same thing.

Longest I've ever waited was 5, and I wasn't alone. Had I been it would've been 2 or 3.

I used to get pissed off about this stuff until I did my clinical rotations with some Pediatricians, PCPs and IM doctors. It only takes one or two late, sick or difficult patient to really frick up a schedule.

To me, the whole point of setting an appointment is to block out time to see a patient. Outside of some kind of emergency, there should be no waiting if I there on time.

But, long arse waits should not be considered acceptable in an advanced society.

This. It's amazing how people are easily conditioned to accept mediocracy. People will risk being late to work because they're willing to wait an hour in a fricking Starbucks drive thru line.

What's worse is you could take 15 minutes to stop, go inside, and pick up your order if you're smart and order ahead. Hell you could go inside and make an order and be out in much less time compared to the drive thru.

No, we've become too fat, selfish, surly, and lazy as a society today. We have dumbfricks willing to risk their very employment because they need that $5 cup of coffee that tastes no different than gas station coffee.

I had an 8 am appointment that the doctor showed up for at 10. Like he didn’t enter the building until 10

Basic customer service would be to inform the patient.

Most of the time this doesn't happen. You just get some condescending reply. I'm sick of it personally, our medical system really sucks.

Not to even count the misdiagnoses I have had, including a lear jet ride to Seattle over the Doctors imagination.

The way I see it is that I usually take time off of work to go see the doctor. If I'm not there for some unscheduled reason I'm going to walk out if they are way past the hour or two I scheduled to be out of the office. I'll go tell them I'm leaving and why.

Yeah the "backed up" excuse doesn't fly. Minimum effort would be required to put off the appt or move the patient.

The medical field is the least patient friendly system we have. shite, how many die of something they catch in the hospital?

My bud just retired, he was CEO of a health system (made hella money) but that shite burned him out.

My experience may not be normal, but I've been misdiagnosed and mistreated so many times I got to the point I don't go unless I might die.

And I am not sitting in a waiting room for two hours ever again.

I have very little faith in our medical systems at all. Youre a number, they'll get to you when its convenient.
