I mean you tell me the difference then. 28,000 on the two Saturday games which isn't bad, less than 20 on the weeknights. The weeknight games clearly make an impact. Call it an excuse but you're not going to get casual fans, you're not going to get families with young kids, you're not going to get out of town fans to travel in for a Thursday game like a Saturday. And when you're dealing with a smaller fan base, those fans make a difference..you need those numbers to turn out.

Those baws in Dire Wolf's post made it, not sure why some cajun families families can't. Everyone else in the country is somehow able to make it to sporting events on Thursday nights.

I guarantee Walk On's on Kaliste is full of family but watching the NFL game.

Why is the University of Louisiana in a G5 conference? I would have thought a state with the population of Louisiana would have both the State and the U school in P5 conferences.

Any chance Louisiana gets the call to the Big 12 next round? Probably better than Memphis or some other city or directional school.

Only 16k students.
Funding was lacking for a long time and the overall athletic department was just bad.

Wouldn't get my hopes up. Need to actually win the sun belt before jumping ship

Ok. Getting my education here. How many students at La Tech?

In another thread I posted what an outsiders view is of the pecking order of these schools. So help me out.

Don’t worry about any of them. Southeastern Louisiana University is the real king.

UL has been as high as mid 19k a few years ago. Last two years enrollment has been down around 16k. Tech is generally around 12k

It’s a good thing they keep expanding the stadium.

You keep being told time and time again that the stadium seating will actually be reduced.

But you’re from Jennings, so pretty obvious you have an IQ in the 40s.

The attendance has been really bad the last two years. I understand the money talks with the midweek games but they are horrible for attendance. I hated them when I was at UL. The plandemic I’m sure doesn’t help but you still would think with the quality of team they’ve had on the field the last couple years that we could get some butts in seats.

Cajun Field is empty on weekday games because UL’s alumni haven’t returned from their weekly commuter flights back from their investment banking jobs in Manhattan

I’m from Lafayette, and I think the city and area is fun with awesome food.

But dammit, the “fans” there supported Hud more than they now support Napier, and that’s just fricking stupid. Hud was a socialite like many of them, and they begged to be in his and his wife’s inner circle to feel important.

Napier just wins football games. Plain and boring to those lapdogs.

Where is their head coach going? They just got stuffed on a 4th and 2 by a 4-4 team. Is the job at S.Miss open?

Totally unaware of how ignorant you sound. Where are the Louisiana Bengal tigers 2 years in a row?

They don’t play in a real conference.

College football is broken, if you aren’t a part of the top 15 programs it’s virtually impossible to be considered to compete for a natty let alone win one, so what’s the point in being a fan? Like seriously? Why would anyone be a ULL fan? There’s literally no point

Yeah, I did too, and the school I went to has no chance to win a natty ever under any circumstances, so I don’t watch them…because the goal of viewing national sports is to win championships…and the college system is so shattered that no one ever will except for top programs that can’t be knocked down or beaten ever
