If I had to hear Joe Buck say Freddy Freeman is going to be a Free Agent or "this might be his last XX as a Brave," one more time...

If this comes together and Soroka and Ozuna are good to go, we shouldnt win less than 100 games next season and should be favorites to repeat.

This would be my first crack at the line up I'd want to see next year:

Acuña CF
Soler RF
Freeman 1B
Riley 3B
Rosario LF
Ozuna DH
Albies 2B
D'Arnaud C
Swanson SS

That's a big assumption they are able to resign all of Rosario/Soler/Freeman.

What much do we think each of those guys gets in FA?

Freddie - 5 years/$150m?
Rosario - ?
Soler - ?

That's why I brought his name up. The Indians front office is forward thinking enough to consider trading him this offseason.

Both signed for $8 million last year, before they were the NLCS and WS MVPs.

No character issues, stays out of the spotlight, driven with a quiet mean streak while pitching. He would be a helluva get, for sure.

What a job by Will Smith. I bashed him so much during the regular season, but he came through when we needed him most. I take back all I said about him.

Rumor is Freddie wants to beat Goldy in years and AAV.

6/160 maybe. Obviously you do it but I would prefer 5 years.

Soler and Rosario are very difficult to project because their seasons were so uneven.

If there is a universal DH Soler gets more, if not Rosario gets more imo. I think both are going to get multi year deals now at around $10M AAV. Don’t think Braves can afford both and add what they need to elsewhere unless they can get out from under Ozuna deal.

Ugh. With a universal DH coming at some point, this is a little more palatable, but this is not a franchise that will be in a position to eat the potential dead money on a Freeman deal when he's 37-38 years old.

I was thinking 4/$120M might be as far as I'd be willing to go.

Yeah, Soler and Rosario made themselves some money this postseason. They helped us get a ring, but I don’t think they’ll have any sort of loyalty to the Braves to give them any sort of discount. They’re both gonna want to get paid. As much as I’d love to sign both, I doubt we sign either. And Duvall is gonna want to play every day—I’m not sure je re-signs with us without that guarantee, even if he gets a little less somewhere else. Isn’t that why he left last year?

We’ve got to know ASAP whether or not the NL is gonna have the DH, and we have to figure out Ozuna. Hard to know how to build the team without either of those. And I think we may have to start thinking about extending Dansby.

I also think you’ve gotta work under the assumption Soroka never throws another pitch. Anything he gives you is lagniappe, but there’s no way you can count on anything from him after 2 Achilles tears.

I think we will bring Freddie back and everything else comes down to what happens with Ozuna. The Braves aren’t putting Acuna in center and I don’t think they want Duvall to be the full time CF next year. My guess is Pache is the opening day CF unless they make a trade. I don’t expect us making a move for a starting pitcher until the trading deadline next year if Soroka can’t stay healthy. Alex will look for guys wanting to take one year deals and won’t trade prospects that he believes are major league players. I don’t expect this front office to change its way after winning a World Series.

I thought Buck was really good all series but yeah that was out of place. Like we are all over here feeling euphoric and shite with only a handful of outs to go for the first title in 26 years and can’t even watch Freddie round the bases without reminding us he’s a free agent

Duvall is still arbitration eligible. He can’t go anywhere if the Braves offer him arbitration.

I thought someone said he could opt out. I’m certainly happy to have him back, especially if there’s the DH.

Yeah. He did it several times with Correa too.

And the endless need to distinguish this was only Atlanta's 2nd title even though it was the Braves' 4th.

All of them were fine enough points, but he wouldn't stop harping on them. I felt like they each came out once an inning.

Not a ton of holes/questions going in to the off-season. Freddie obviously the biggest storyline but there is a lot of $$$ available and zero alternative at 1B so have to think something gets done there. Ozuna situation bears watching as well and we need a resolution there. Have to think one or both of Soler/Rosario will be back pending the Ozuna stuff and new CBA. Joc doesn’t seem like he fits the roster to me. Biggest need is probably right handed relief help and maybe some SP for depth purposes coming off a long season and Soroka, Morton, Ynoa all coming off serious injuries.

Will be interesting to see whether or not they finally package some of the young SP who are on the cusp for some additional major league help as well. Somebody like Buxton still makes a lot of sense imo. A trade for an OF wouldn’t shock me.

I certainly expect Freddie to be re-signed. It would be almost criminal to torpedo all the goodwill in the fanbase by letting him walk. I think Rosario should be a priority to sign, and if there is a universal DH, I would say absolutely bring back Soler IF we know that Ozuna will not be in the plans. That one just doesn't seem like it's going to be resolved any time soon, though, so I'm not sure we see Soler back. Would love to keep him, especially with how much he improved on the fly with his plate discipline, to go along with the already existing monster power.

The one thing I disagree with you on is Byron Buxton. Unless the Braves can acquire him for a similar package of peanuts that they got their guys at the deadline for this year, I would be very upset if they gave up any quality prospects for him. Not because he isn't good, but because he is absolutely never healthy. He's Rocco Baldelli 2.0... Ironic that he's managed by Rocco, himself.

I think the reason behind this is that I don't remember him ever using the word Braves. It was always Atlanta and Astros - as far as I recall.

Don’t start this narrative… they said Braves a lot.
