I don't understand why just because we give Seastrunk (class of 2010) an offer, we don't give one to Michael (class of 2009).

It doesn't look like we're gonna get Richardson and we've got a 5 star RB prospect here who really wants to come play for LSU. Why not?

well, Brockers was first commit I think, but it was after national signing day from the '08 signing class

I'm more talking about commitments from kids in future classes, aside from the class we are recruiting to sign for the immediate year

Because we already have two running backs in this class. Because it is Trent or bust. Because other colleges, just not our staff, aren't hard after him so even though people on message boards want him, there is concern about him. All he can do is play his arse off. All we can do is wait.

Hand, you hit the nail on the head with that commit.

Cadello, you just tell me when you are going to be in this area because I have a cold six-pack of root beer for you and I to drink.

Maybe this will help.

I have three kids, two boys and a girl. The girl has worked hard to get a scholly for marching band. She gets there early and gives 110% every practice. One day while at school she gets pulled to the side and is given a scholly to one of the colleges she is interested in attending. Both her brothers heard this. Brother #1 had information that Brother #2 had so in order to stand out and feel good about himself he rushes home to tell mom & dad about his sister's good fortune. By doing this he took away his sister's right to announce the good news to her parents. Thus stealing her thunder because she will never see her parents face when they heard the news the first time.

As a perent of three I see it that way. IMHO. Lester I hope that helps.

I bet he got to tell his parents before they read it on the recruiting sites.

I don't think that it should be taken literally. It's a metaphor. Parents, used in the context of this thread and the metaphor, may mean the public, us the fans.

Because there are other recruits higher on the coaches board.

just because rivals says he is a 5 star doesnt mean the coaches graded him out the same, the evaluated CM in person and didnt offer for a reason.

and how does the public usually find out when a player gets an offer?

answer: recruiting sites

so unless his parents found out about it before he told them personally, i dont really see a problem.

Yes the fans find out through the pay sites as well as the local media while an interview is taking place. Not, so and so has an offer now everybody find out if I was right because I did not interview him. We had to get confirmation from another pay site and we still have not heard anything from Lache or his family about the offer. Just about everybody knew LSU was going to offer Lache and I could have told you that months ago. You, Lester, would have demanded a link to an article from me but did you demand it from Mike? Looks like to me Lache has been doing less and less interviews since school has started thus the claim by Mike without an interview.
