re: Coach besides O who you’re most looking forward to replacing

Pretty much everyone outside of Raymond needs to go. Joseph can stay on in some capacity for recruiting, but should not be an actual coach.
Otherwise, clean house and start fresh everywhere else.
Faulk is one I'd consider, but I honestly don't think he is a great coach. Most great players are not good at coaching, because technique was not their strength as much as natural ability that most of their players cannot match.

Didn’t Austin Deculus make a comment about the O line not being in good condition?

Raymond, Faulk and Joseph are the only ones I’d even consider retaining. That being said, it’s going to be up to the new HC if he even wants to retain anyone.
We may need a complete clean sweep/culture shift in order to move on to greener pastures.
Agree with you there. Those three are proven solid and ingrained in the program. Try to convince the new guy to keep them on, but if he wants a clean slate, give it to him.

Special teams coach -- punt block/returns and kick off returns... dude is totally useless

The overwhelming reason our OL is bad is that they're not talented and not properly developed, from a technique perspective.
No amount of weight lifting and running (yes, I know I'm oversimplifying it) will change that.
Now of course, we want our players to be strong, flexible, and in good shape to play their position.
But S&C can't transform poor players into good ones.
It just can't.

Yeah. peetz needs more time to develop. He needs a G5 job or something.

The returns haven't been great. But the kicking has arguably been the best in the last 40 years of LSU football.
For years LSU couldn't get a touchback (or didn't want to). Now it is almost automatic and has been for 4 years. The ST coach brought in Cole Tracy (Groza Finalist) followed up by Cade York, maybe the best place kicker in LSU history.
If the ST coach is at the top of your list of complaints, then I'd hate to see what happens when you actually watch a game

Everyone except Corey Raymond and Special Teams Coach.

I'm talking about strategy nimrod. Kicking is kicking a guy can either kick hard or not. The lack of punt pressure and lack of return is pathetic.

I'll let the new coach decide who to replace, which I assume is everyone or almost everyone.
While those in the know, or pretend to be in the know, still believe in Moffitt, there have been lots of issues and plenty of question marks should be raised about what they do in the summer. There is a culture issue, and S&C is a big part of the culture too.

boils down to lack of strength and stamina which falls at the knees of Moffitt.
Do you really think our lineman today don't bench press, squat, or run as much as our lineman did 10 years ago? There was another post started this morning that mentions the difference between the practice styles of Les & Ed O.
THIS is the reason.
quote:
a former LSU player told him that Les Miles practices were too hard..
...O is the opposite, he doesn’t push LSU players hard enough in practices, implying we’re seeing the results.
I can almost guarantee that for the most part the linemen on the 2021 LSU Football team are going through the same offseason/conditioning program that the 2011 LSU Football team did. The main difference is the coaching & the intensity of practices. Moffitt has no say in how intense their practices should be.

Moffitt is the Ad as well. I can bet Woody has him on eyes and ears duty digging shite up to help with canning O to save his own arse.

The issues in the trench are related to recruiting imo
Recruiting and overall team culture (which is on O). What can the S&C coach really do if the head of the organization is not stressing dedication to S&C? It's one reason why I hate the idea of the "CEO model" at least as far as most posters think of it. A CEO doesn't just "hire the best people" and let them do whatever they want. A CEO must coordinate the efforts of all those best people, which clearly isn't happening here.

Have you seen how fat some of the players are, that's on the players and the coaches.

People keep saying this, but how would we know? It seems to me the quantifiable measurement would be actual performance on the field (i.e. strength, conditioning, endurance, durability, etc).
Only my opinion, but I'm not seeing it.

All of them, clean house. Need all new blood in there to build a new attitude, approach and program.
