Yeah, Brandon was throwing hot dogs around in Auburn with a Walk On's sticker on it trying to drum up business.

look .. i'm not the biggest fan of walk ons either .. i'm just telling you what i see everyday relative to the cars in his lot ... as far as his leasing that place .. if it works -- and it looks like it is doing better than the LSU location -- his old man has enough money to buy half of coursey boulevard ..

yeah and if i am going to get some cheese fries, I'd much rather ones with 2-types of shredded cheese, bacon and banana peppers with chipotle ranch crack dipping sauce over chimes' slice of cheese on french fries with can gravy sauce. of course I will likely have my first heart attack faster at Walk-Ons.

you're right .. walk ons cheese fries are money .. and go well with beer ... there's just a lot of anit-walk ons sentiment on here and the chimes seems to have this lifetime hall pass and can serve dried dog shite topped with cat semen and people would rave about it ..

I've always heard good things about the Walk-On's cheese fries.

I'd still take the Chimes any day of the week, though. You're right about the Chimes Easy being less crowded these days, last time I went was on a weeknight and there wasn't much of a wait at all. It was later though... closer to 9. Most places are emptying out by then on a weeknight.

if i took the best five items on each place's menu, yeah, i'd prolly pick the chimes also .. i was just trying to make the point that something has cut into their weeknight business and it is just too coincidental that this started when walk ons opened .. i'm not trying to pimp brandon and jack .. anyone that has read my stuff before knows i am not a huge fan .. i'm just calling it like i see it ..

I probably stick with only about 5 items on the Chimes' menu anyway.

Alright, more like 12 if you coutn the appetizers. Plus I'm a bit of a beernut, so... that gives a large edge to The Chimes.

Last time I went to Chimes East on a Friday night though... ridiculously packed. That was after being told that it would be 90 minutes at BJ's for a table for two.

yeah, it is still packed on fridays and saturdays .. BJs is just an unusally small place .. there's a lotta wasted space in that floor plan .. they should be able to fit a lot more people in there than they do ..

Yeah, that seemed crazy.

It's not like it's a small footprint for a restaurant, either.

if you notice .. the area to the far right as you are walking in will sometimes have five or six empty tables while you are being given these insane wait times .. i think it has just as much to do with a lack of waitstaff as space ..

Hmmmm, never noticed that. That sucks if they can't even staff that place.

3:30 if I don't stay late... plenty of time to get anywhere before they get packed. Just rarely go straight out after work.

The last 2 times I have eaten at walk-ons I have been very disappointed. The only redeeming factor is their catfish acadiana, its pretty good. However, the service is terrible, the food is mediocre, and the burgers are average to less than average at best. The game day atmosphere is pretty high. But if your looking for food, there are better places. To me it's a better bar than a restaurant, if you get service.
