In 2011 Florida lost to FSU 21-7 despite holding FSU to 95 yards.

In 2014 they got crushed by Missouri 42-13 despite holding Missouri to 119 yards.

Both these losses, especially to Missouri, featured bad special teams and offensive turnovers

In 1990 Eddie Murray batted .330 in 155 games for the LA Dodgers, the highest average in the majors that year.

Eddie Murray never won a batting title in his career.

David Justice had a higher batting average than Derek Jeter in both 1995 and 1996, but Jeter had a higher batting average for the two years combined.

In 1927, a ball that hopped over the fence was a home run. None of Babe Ruth's homers that year were one hoppers.

If you took away all of Hank Aaron's home runs he would still have 3000 hits.

The Atlanta Falcons blew a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl.

The 1960 World Series is famous for Bill Mazeroski's walk off homer to win Game 7 and the title.

But that moment has obscured a statistical anomaly. The Yankees scored twice as many runs as the Pirates in the Series and still lost. The Yankees won their 3 games by 13, 12 and 10 runs. The Pirates won their 4 games by 1, 1, 3, and finally 1 (Mazeroski's walk off).

The Yankees hit .338 with 10 HRs and 27 extra base hits. The Pirates hit .256 with only 4 HRs. Yankees pitchers had an ERA of 3.54 including two complete game shutouts. Pittsburg pitchers had an ERA of 7.11.

Usain Bolt had the distinction of being the undisputed fastest human ever to live in both the 100 and 200m for over a decade, and people still actually debate who was the greatest athlete of all time.
