It’s not Moffitt or his program it’s the leadership inside the building and on the sideline. We get pushed around because our technique sucks and guys are overweight. Players have to buy in to eating right and working out when coaches aren’t watching. That’s a leadership issue that we have had for several years now going back to Les days. Saban sets the tone, other coaches set the tone for their teams that are kicking our butt. Ed chases women and hopes his staff can pull him along.

Dr Rhea at bama is better. Bama upgraded big big time of SC who was known for causing injuries.

Not the strength coach. Ballou is

Rhea does what Jack Marruci does.

I advise you to listen to any Marucci interview you can find. The one from Hey Fightin Podcast comes right to mind. He’s very much cutting edge

Jack very much is great at what he does, but Rhea also helps with the strength and speed planning and tracking.

and SC was a TM discpile but took things too far and was well known in the industry for causing shoulder and soft tissue issues.

FTR I am all for keeping both tommy and jack. both are great at what they do, i wasnt advocating for Feld as I think tommy and a couple others are the best in the business. I think Rhea is the best, but Jack isnt far behind.

in the end, most people on here are idiots when it comes to S&C. and are just spouting off that because of the record.

reminds me of a post Aaron Ausmus made who was USC strength coach for years and a TM disciple about his first stint under Pete

Also people need to understand LSU currently has a big big culture issue. the kids are not putting the work in and treating the offseason as a full time job. That is not on Tm, thats on O. TM can only provide a program, provide guidance on technique, provide guidelines for nutrition and provide guidance on recovery. He cant make them do that, especially if there are not consequences coming from the coaching staff.

also one thing that needs to be talked about is...the biggest thing in S&C is consistency. Putting the work in, week in and week out. Well when you have 52 players leave the program lately, you have a big big consistency problem.

This is dead on....

I got roasted for suggesting the “best strength coach in the country” be replaced. Not sure how he is labeled the best. Maybe someone can explain. How much of us getting out physical and the long list of injuries is on him and the strength and conditioning program or on the coaching staff.
CEO maybe can try firing him to get another year.

Yeah, I find it hard to believe the same strength coach behind three NC teams, one just two years ago, is the problem.

Yep, it’s just a very low hanging fruit when they run out of people to blame.

There is really one constant over the last 20 years in the Tiger football program & that is Moffit. Everyone else has come & gone but it is very clear he produces great football players when he has the opportunity

if our guys are overweight, that needs to be addressed.

But this board's hyper focus on strength and conditioning is misplaced. I'm sure our S&C program is just fine. COuld it be better? Maybe so, but how much difference would that truly make on the field?

The overwhelming reason we're getting pushed around is the athleticism (or lack of it) of our guys, and their technique. It's not some magic formula from the S&C coaches that can transform a bad player to an elite one.

You just added to the list of LSU team deficiencies. Players are no longer explosive with speed and stamina compared to our competition. Weak as ever in Q4.
Throw in what may be a Top 10 worse coaching staff overall and it is a disaster losing situation that will take a TOP coach (not some average reach) at least 2, if not 3 to 4 years, to fix.

If not physical training, Is it due to player confusion / tentativeness??

Maybe it's on the players? Not every guy works out as hard as others.

What set Burrow, Chase, JJ, TM, CEH apart? Weren't these guys working their asses off in the Summer?
