Lulz I guess they’re done with the doomcane porn for ratings and have to actually report the facts now.

They're going off of NHC guidance, not models. That hasn't yet changed. 10am advisory should be interesting.

This is not true
HWRF still showing Cat 4, GFS and Euro still strong Cat 3

The guys that are the best in the business like Cowan, Andy Hazelton, Pappin are all saying RI will start taking place and to expect a 4

Dr. Levi Cowan
@TropicalTidbits
#Ida is exhibiting a more coherent eyewall structure on satellite this morning, with multiple rotating convective bursts around the core. This suggests that a quicker pace of intensification will likely begin soon. Pressure is down 8mb since leaving Cuba.

Meh.

If they come out and say it is now a 3 at landfall, people let their guard down. The practical difference between 120mph and 140mph is moot for most things, and a 4 is still well within the cards.

The Tropical tidbits site show 15 wind models and not one shows hitting Cat4 now.

Guess I’m about to get sandbags. I’m in BR hoping it slows down as much as possible after landfall

I have a feeling it is going to take longer to get the power back up than normal. The covid shutdown is not going to help and anything involving the Biden Feds is going to move at the speed of molasses.

year ago, during lockdown I was exercising. I had the crazy thought that we would have a major hurricane hit us named IDA. I knew I'd get damage to the house.

I am a weirdo in that I know things about weather.

I had a dream about Katrina, The Hurricane that hit New York, Hurricane Michael, and our flood. ( years before they happened. Sometimes I know the location, sometimes I do not. I've never knew a name in advance)

I immediately called a friend and told him- he told me that's a 2021 hurricane. I said, well let's remember it, because it will be bad.

I just remembered it yesterday. This will be another Katrina. Good luck to us all.

To say that I am freaking out is an understatement. I am in B

Now this is how I like my weather threads. Lots of "shoulda's" and whole bunch of weirdos.

TWC just reported that there’s a consensus among all models that intensity forecasts are dropping.
