I traded emails with an Auburn buddy/coworker of mine today. After a little back and forth smack talk, this is how he summed up Auburn....
In his own words:
The really only way that we can beat yall is if our offense is taken over by aliens. Our O line is good but young and their mistakes are killing us. Also they are dead by the forth quarter. I heard yesterday that the coaches are trying to slow down the spread to save the linemen. Todd, the quarterback who started last week, seems to be pretty good but he can't find anybody to throw to a lot of the time. If Kodie Burns can come in and help mix things up, it will make things a little more interesting. With the spread, you have to have a quarterback who can run the ball and Todd can't do it. I think our defense is as good as last year or better. If our offense can keep them off the field some of the time then they are a real handful.
I hope it is at least a good game.

The more I think about this game....I'm thinking we win by 14-17 points.

don't see auburn hanging with todd at qb. he isn't a threat to run which is the purpose of the spread offense.

Not really. The purpose of the spread offense is to literally spread the field and find open receivers in the passing game. A mobile quarterback is just a bonus.

Anyway, I think he is downplaying it a little bit. He knows that Auburn becomes superhuman when playing us every year.

Awesome. Some dumb Auburn redneck thinks the only way Auburn can beat us if their offense is taken over by aliens. We should call up Coach Miles and the team and tell them to relax about stressing out about preparing for the Auburn game, take the week off, go on a vacation. Just show up for the Auburn game and hope their offense is not taken over by aliens.

In the past Cox seemed to elevate against us. I hope that was isolated to him but I doubt it. It'll be close, we should have beat them bad last year but we didn't...
The thing is we have no clue how Hatch or Lee will react to a real game in a hostile stadium. That will tell all.
