I have a Kenmore Elite HE top-loader washer and dryer that I've had since 2012 without any issues. The set is made by LG, and has the WaveForce technology, which works really well and cleans extremely well.
Basically, it spins during the wash cycle, sending soapy water up the sides, where a diverter then dumps the water on the clothes as it spins, utilizing centrifugal force to cycle a large amount of water through the clothes.
It is a great set. So, if my house burned down and I needed to buy a new set, I'd probably go with the LG version of what I already have. I think LG calls it TurboWash or something.

Should’ve got a Speed Queen baw. Did you not consult the OT prior to purchase?
