And one of these didn’t play point guard while one was responsible for more points and was the Conf defensive player of the year. Like with Cam you were wrong about Waters and you can’t accept it so you continue to dog him. You’re such a pathetic and spiteful creature.

Smart and Mays were really good players. but any answer besides Waters is incorrect. He could break a press by himself. He was always clutch when the team needed a bucket, a steal, assist or just making a play when it mattered most. The Aggie game his freshman year and the drive to the bucket to go to the sweet 16 versus Maryland are just two examples off the top of my head. Not taking anything away from Mays or Smart, loved them both. plus, Waters only played 2 years versus 3 for Smart and 4 for Mays.

You can post all the stats you want. None of that speaks to controlling the tempo of the game and seeing the court in a way like no other player. Mays and Smart are left wanting when compared to Waters or even someone like Darrell Mitchell. Mays was constantly out of control and smart was FAR too stiff. Their is little to no fluidity to his game. Just look at his “set shot”. It is kinda embarrassing and not really translatable.
You want to see a true point guard? Watch Ethan Martin, Derrick Taylor and CJ/ MAB. All three of them could take over a game from the guard spot. I never got that feeling from Mays or Smart.
The other guys I mentioned all could go left as easy as right.
You want to see the greatest ball handler. Go watch Pete clips. End of discussion.
