Will there be any open tailgates for LSU fans to just walk up to on the golf course? I’ll bring my own alcohol but me and my buddy just want kind of a home base while we are out there.

I know that the alumni tailgate is already sold out :(

The ride FROM Union Station does not take an hour. I've done it many times. If you ride from the JW Marriot then yea, total ride with transfers may take you an hour and a half. Again, I think the OPTIMAL route is to drive to Union Station, park in their underground parking for $8, and take the Gold Line from THERE. That ride on the gold line is no more than 35 minutes

where does the Gold Line drop you off in Pasadena? My thought was i wanted to get to Pasadena early (11am ish) find a place to watch games/eat lunch and head to the stadium a couple of hours before the game, to get some pics of the stadium and also in case security lines are long. I see i could reserve parking for around $20 so i was thinking of driving up there.

ETA: i'm staying downtown LA, so getting to Union Station won't be a problem if that's the better option

Technically the Gold Line is now called "The Metro L Line" - They renamed them all recently but you'll still see gold color around the stations and sinage.

The Memorial Park Station is about a 4 min walk to Barney's and all things Colorado Blvd. The Del Mar Station is one stop before that and is about a 7 min walk.

At this point I think there may be some concern the game may be postponed or cancelled. A lot of places have 48 hour cancellation policies so hopefully everyone in BR is safe and this is a non factor. Sorry if insensitive

This is the planning thread and some may not be able to make it. Read the fine print on your airline/hotel. Lots have free cancellation policies but it is usually 48 hours prior

I may be due for a trip to the eye doctor but I didn’t see any of the models showing the hurricane hanging a left and heading over here to SoCal

I’m just saying what no one wants to say. Bookmark and come back and laugh at me if you want, there may be some that need to cancel their plans. Check the 48 hour policy.

Games have been rescheduled or cancelled for less. UCLA gets a home game vs sac st and LSU gets one vs southeastern. Go ahead and put me in the rantard hall of fame if I am wrong. If LSU can’t practice or facilities damaged for player safety the governing powers may not allow the game. There are rows of empty seats. It isn’t like so much money is involved they couldn’t possibly cancel

I have reservations to go and hope it doesn’t get cancelled. But people should be aware of their contingency options if needed

Is this Greg Sankey?

I'll go on record and say that the game will be played. Dodgers and Angels games still going on every day in Los Angeles.

He's never been, it's been years for me. Probably just going to see the various sites like hollywood, santa monica beach, drive to malibu, etc. Look at USC and UCLA. Not planning to do a single "big thing" like universal studios that would take essentially a whole day--that's probably Saturday.

I'm taking my 13 year old granddaughter. We will probably just hang around old town prior to the game. Probably going to the Angels game on Friday night.

this paragraph is all over the place I have no idea why you bring up the next week games for both teams or what "less" game have been cancelled for.

Also LSU evacuated to Houston and apparently are practicing there then flying to LA

weather looks to be good. We've been hammering out hot days here 100 in the area, looks to break by early week, hold until Sat. 86 degrees @ game time in Pasadena. 20/30ish percent humidity. Looks like a little onshore push cooling things off. 70's by the second 1/2. Gonna be a great time !

I come in peace. Malibu Cafe is great. But you might want to try Paradise Cove Cafe instead. Awesome spot right on the beach. Gets crowded. I would try to go early and do breakfast there.

I’ll, be at the RB Saturday. We will only go as far as DTR takes us, and that scares me. Only way we run the ball is if he can keep the D honest through the air. What I saw yesterday does not inspire me. But here’s hoping he knocked the rust off. See y’all next week

I’m suppose to fly out of MSY Friday afternoon. Getting pretty worried about this. And I know a lot of you have earlier fights as well. I evacuated to Houston and wondering if I should/ can change flights.

Other than Barney's Beanery, any other spots to check out in Old Town?

from reading this thread, I know of Lucky Baldwins and 35er...there is also a Yard House and several others...Colorado Blvd is the main drag with most of the bars and restaurants.
