BRPD has had quite a week. Let's take a look at some of the highlights.
Former BRPD Narcotics Officer Jason Acree to remain in jail without bond (WBRZ)
Restraining order against BRPD Officer Donald Steele for inappropriate behavior on a traffic stop has been extended. Sources say the female's story has been verified and an arrest warrant for Steele is likely imminent (WBRZ)
BRPD Officer David MacAulay, who was arrested in May for domestic violence, was fired for violating policy (WBRZ)
BRPD Narcotics Officer Jacob Cowart fired for undisclosed reasons (WBRZ)
BRPD Officer Michelle Patterson, fired in 2018 and arrested for injuring public records and malfeasance in office, rehired by Murphy Paul and assigned to Uniform Patrol (Unfiltered with Kiran)
Kiran Chawla uncovers that rehired BRPD Officer Michelle Patterson is the sister-in-law of Clay Young, who is paid $200k+ each year by the city-parish to manage various assignments, including the BRPD Facebook page (Uncovered with Kiran)
This is just embarrassing. You get what you vote for, I guess.

That’s the first I’m hearing about that one. That’s pretty damn creepy and scary to think about how often that could possibly go on before he’s was caught.

Kiran Chawla has been awesome on these stories
BRPD literally said they wouldn’t talk to her

This came from a cops kid, so who knows what it is worth, but he said BRPD was cleaning records for applicants to get on...
They should shut down enforcement of victimless crime and focus on violence and theft, but they can't pass the opportunity to take a picture with a bag a flowers to post on facebook.

Only one person shot to death and another person stabbed to death this week. As of Thursday, no more homicides, YET.
The weekend killings are almost here.

If all these events were put together for an upcoming book, the publisher would insist that it be classified as fiction because no one would believe all that crap could be true in one city.

And honestly I’m not surprised that officers are retiring and finding other jobs.
It’s just between Broome/Paul and then craziness inside the department, even good officers want nothing to do with police work anymore

I'm sure there are good Cops on the BRPD and I feel bad for them.
