LSU vs UCLA in recruiting.

Top 100/Top 200 recruits signed

2021
LSU - 9/14
UCLA - 0/0

2020
LSU - 9/12
UCLA - 0/1

2019
LSU - 4/11
UCLA - 1/0

2018
LSU - 3/4
UCLA - 1/2

2017
LSU - 8/9
UCLA - 2/3

Over the last 5 cycles LSU has signed 33 top 100 players and 50 top 200 players. UCLA has signed 4 top 100 players and 6 top 200 players.

I’m doubting em. LSU signs mostly 4 star talent. UCLA signs mostly 3 star talent. LSU should beat them comfortably.

I do see LSU getting much better as the season progresses though.
Already making an excuse for a loss.

That's OK, we'll get better as the season progresses. There's 11 more games to play. Geaux Tigahs.

I’m not an optimist. And I’m confident that we win. That’s enough for me

They going to be a veteran team. They returning a lot of starters. Also the LSU game will be their 2 our first of the season. Going to be a tough game.

UCLA would finish last in the sec west by a mile. We should win by 21

I’d be absolutely shocked if LSU doesn't win this game by 10+

Stars on recruits don’t really mean as much as you think… it’s how they are developed once they are in college…..

The one factor that may come into play that I haven't seen is "the heat". LA traditionally has near record highs over labor day weekend. Even though the game start time is 5:00 pm Pacific, it could still be well above 90 degrees at game time with a field temperature in excess of 100. LSU is used to sticky heat. It'll be tough to know if there may be Monsoons to the South [they come up from the pacific across northern Mexico and cause a lot of havoc in the Desert and Arizona, but can still bring humidity. I believe that will play into LSU's favor. UCLA doesn't have an indoor practice facility. They may be more acclimated a couple days before the game, but that's not the same as living it all summer long. I see lots of cramping in the second half for UCLA and that's when LSU pulls away.

In each individual case, you're right- stars don't tell the whole story. But for the trillionth time, look at all the playoff participants and the champion. Notice how they all seem to finish in the top 5, in recruiting on a regular basis? And the odd Washington squad that sneaks in gets their asses handed to them.

If LSU loses to UCLA, Orgeron is IMMEDIATELY on the hot seat, and he might not last until 2022. For those who doubt me, look up Chizik, Gene.

Which is why Saban recruits mostly two star players.
