Easy to override and you have to opt in on Ecobee. It tells you when it's doing it as well.

You have to opt in and register your thermostat with our provider here for the discount. I don't intend on doing that. I just want a better experience.

Our system is pretty new, I think the thermostats were replaced in 2018 with Honeywell T4 ProSeries devices. We moved the one from the huge open area at the top of the stairs into our bedroom, and it has helped out a lot with temp control. Neither device is "smart," per se. The HVAC company installed them at no charge to us, so they likely are dime a dozen type product.
