The Priests who wanted to offer Sacraments last spring were in a tough spot, too.

Life is damn tough spot for everyone lately.

Where is the moral courage from our supposed leaders? Why is everyone so afraid of these Bishops?

And yet, schools... Kids, the least effected group are the only ones having to abide by these draconian rules.
It's bullshite.

The cdc even published a study that showed masks were only 2% effective over 100 days. So, even they admitted masks don't work (or have miniscule impact).
Of course they buried the info deep in the article and spun it as having a positive effect.
2%. What a joke.
This illogical oppression needs to stop.

Logic has never been a part of this entire covid debacle. It's purely political. There is no significant threat to anyone now. If you want a vaccine, get the vaccine. Boom.... problem solved. Forcing more people to vaccinate, especially children is out of pressure from somewhere. I suspect that big pharma sees an unending stream of money and is pressuring the current administration to push for everyone to get their product.

40% of bishops’ budgets come from the federal government from taxpayers, for immigration, prison ministry, etc. They are more loyal to Biden and the “Catholic” Democrats who cherish abortion rights, than they are to the local families who have entrusted them with the daily care and education of their precious children.

The CDC is STILL discouraging the use of Ivermectin, flat out lying to people that it is dangerous. There is no doubt that there is a global conspiracy to get as many people vaccinated as possible. They're downplaying alternative treatments and overhyping the remaining danger from the virus.

It's incomprehensible.

Catholics on TD - please consider following Dr. Taylor Marshall on Twitter @taylorrmarshall as well as listening to his podcasts on YouTube or ITunes. He runs the new St. Thomas Institute, is married to a homeschooling mother, and they have 8 children. He wrote the book Infiltration about the Communist infiltration of the Catholic hierarchy.

He will fearlessly tell you truths about the Catholic Church you will never hear from the Bishops!

If we had a significant group of people in BR listening to him, we would have tremendous leverage to change the schools and even norms in the larger BR community!

I saw Kirin's report about this. I disagree that the number one concern is the separation

This was my opinion of her report as well. I think the #1 concern is masks. My kids were literally told by their teachers that there would be no masks next school year. Maybe at the time that was a little speculative and perhaps they were speaking a little out of turn, but then these same schools have all had summer camps and will be filled with kids that went to theme parks and swimming pools with no mask mandates...

It's absolutely insane.

Exactly! And how many parents want to be stigmatized themselves by having to wear masks when they come to volunteer?

Update: I guess schools won’t be inviting parents to come volunteer this year, unless “legally required by law”! From the letter:

[Visitors to Campus: Non-essential visitors (i.e., volunteers, external groups, organizations, etc.) are not allowed to visit campus unless required by law or by contract for services. All visitors are required to wear masks and maintain 6-feet physical distancing from others.]

A wise parent has asked:

What do the guidance counselors/social workers think about mandatory masking, distancing, separation, preferential treatment for the vaxxed, etc.? Is no one speaking out? Surely they have to be well aware of the social and emotional effects all this has on children.

Cancel culture has neutered 90% of the population.
The Diocese just underestimated this part of the population.

These are the parents that care enough about their kids and are able to pay for private school.
And they are fricking with these parents' kids.
Most everything else in life can be tolerated.
You don't mess with the kids.

Signed the petition last night and about to call/email diocese and OLOM. My daughter is 9 (son is 11 and at a public school in Ascension), been in camp with friends all summer (no masks or distancing) and I take both of them to church every Sunday. Prior to this news yesterday, it was my understanding that OLOM was not going to be doing social distancing and would not require masks. IF this is enforced and not just a CYA, I legit may consider discussing this with the ex-wife and putting both kids together (something I’m EXTREMELY disinclined to do). The ex is going to LOVE yanking my daughter out, just to spite me and really don’t want to give in because I believe it’s in my daughter’s best interest to stay at Mercy.

Do what’s best for your daughter educationally and socially first. There are steps to be made before pulling a kid out that will still hurt. Donations, tithes, and donated hours can all be withheld. If you still feel inclined, pull her. But make sure the education is till on par with what you require for your family.

Yes. And because the Marshalls are independent of their diocesan Catholic schools in the Dallas area, they can research and speak freely about problems within the US diocesan schools as well as problems within the Church in general. Some Catholics resent Dr. Marshall for speaking freely about problems in the Church, but as we all know, intimidating vulnerable people into silence, has only backfired for the hierarchy.

Who are you? I just did a quick browse of your post history and through 4 pages every post was about Catholic high schools or Catholic masks all in the BR area

You are correct. They won't go to EBR but they may go to an Episcopal school or create their own homeschool pod.

A researcher with Internet access.

But if Catholics really want to become completely aware of how the Catholic Church has been infiltrated, check out the Culture Wars podcast on ITunes. And all - please keep in mind - anti-family communists can self-affiliate with any religious group! The question becomes - how should leadership of that group respond to the communists among them?

One insightful example:

Absolutely, I do what's best for both kids. That's why they are at 2 different schools. My son is autistic and needs the services of Ascension Parish public schools (hopefully not for forever). I wanted to try him at OLOM, but after his IEP came to the realization that he needed what AP could provide for him and was unwilling to pull my daughter out of Mercy because she needs that foundation IMO. Mom doesn't see/appreciate that value and those differences are in part why she's my ex.

Pulling her is the ABSOLUTE last thing I'd want to do. I have emailed the principal and await his and the diocese's response.

Google John Zmirak, Catholic writer for The Stream, who happens to have a PhD from LSU.

[More Immigrants, More Taxpayer Cash
What do the bishops get in return? If Biden suspends, as promised, all enforcement at our borders, quite a bit. Already, the bishops reap 40 percent of their annual budget from federal non-profit contracts, most of them serving immigrants (legal or not). If our nation is flooded with a new wave of illegals after January, that percentage might shoot up higher.]
