Didn’t last long...guess she heard the tv and came out to see what I was doing. “Sorry, couldn’t sleep, and wondering why a guy is texting you at 1 am”.
She didn’t flinch, said it was a friend of her sisters husband and she hadn’t heard anything from him in over a year. “Never dated, never anything, he must be drunk”. Showed me her phone, blocked the number and deleted his contact. Good cover up or could she actually be honest?

Reasonable enough.
Put a tracker on her car.

Was she at all curious about who you've been texting for the last hour?

Yeah, he just decided to text this gal (whom he never dated or anything) outta the blue at 2 AM. Oh and he had her number already somehow.
Not buying it, but hey that's just me. I have always been the suspicious type.

So she keeps the number of some random dude in her phone for over a year and says she's had no contact yet "randomly" texts her at 1am?
1. There was previous history more than she's divulging
2. There's current contact she's hiding

If all that is true, how did said “stranger” get her number in the first place? Sounds like the stranger knew who to call for some strange.

Give her the benefit of the doubt until she proves otherwise, IMO.

Good cover but now she knows that you’re insecure. Your relationship with her is forever changed.

was there a name attached to the number? How did she know it was her sister's friend's husband if there was no name?

Either she saved the number to look up later. Or - with iPhones - she can go to the blocked callers list and unblock it whenever she wants to reach him.
Watch that call history like a HAWK.

And you didn’t ask why a married dude is texting her about nothing in particular in the middle of the night?

I don’t have numbers of my brother in laws friends .. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/icons/shrug.gif)

There is a lot of insecurity and immaturity on this thread.

Seems like an over dramatic response.
If completely benign, y’all could have had fun texting back with “Who dis, new phone” and pics of naked fat chicks from the internet representing yourselves
