oh, its her Bday tomorrow, so my arse will be there, but still. 3.5 hour drive tonight, arrive at 9:30-10pm, go to sleep, wake up and kill all morning alone while she works, eat lunch then make the 3.5 drive back home. She could have easily told the client no and it would have been a huge nothing burger, yet here we are.

Must be a newb at the dating game.

So, she wants to be with you, and you are complaining?

Are you married or dating? This makes a big difference.

When I was younger, this would sound fun and romantic. Now I would feel like a total brat to ask my husband to do this unless we could also stay on Saturday. You can't even day drink because you'll have to immediately drive home.

I will give you real and good advice.

Just book a room now for the next night at the St. Vincent’s guest house. When y’all leave the ace the next day take her the St Vincent’s for lunch at the vietnamese bistro in the hotel. After lunch walk her around the hotel, show her the room y’all have for the night, put some flowers in it. That hotel is simply stunning. You will end up staying the night and having a great time.

This is the easiest layup for great sex of all time and you are acting like Ben Simmons in the 4th quarter.

And THEN turn around and attend her friend's pool party right after arriving home.

But, he's gotta do it. They're dating and it's her birthday, so it's make or break time

None of it makes any sense from her stand point, except the fact that she gets to spend almost 2 full days there and gets to be back to get her bday attention from her friends

basically, she fricked up and wants you to suffer with her, but in a way where she doesn't admit she's making you suffer with her

This happened to me before.

I went out and met friends living in nola while the gf slept, well because i wasnt going to go to nola to just lay next to her. She broke up with me the next day.

personally i didnt see the issue with meeting friends for drinks if you were just going to sleep. Becuase i wouldnt have given two shits if the roles were reversed.

Need to add, it wasnt her birthday.

So it appears the OP and his SO are just dating and not married.

I would guess they are both in their late 20's

Im willing to bet the OP's SO is some sort of interior decorator and the OP just started a new desk job and is afraid to ask to get off early

OP's SO is very basic, needy, immature and high maintenance.

This. If you have to go, OP, why not go out solo? No chance I'd drive 3.5 hours to go to bed.

If end up like the poster above.

I wouldn’t care at all if roles were reversed bc I’d understand I volunteered to work and she still drove up to spend a few hours together. Unfortunately if I did go out tonight it’d turn into “you only drove here to hang out with your friends”.
