Very selfish of him. Your time, money and resources need to go to the younger generation. If it comes down to taking care of your kids or parents, chose kids every time. I've already instructed my wife/kids that when the end is near and I'm on the verge of needing round the clock care to drop me off in the woods somewhere, I don't want to live like that.

"When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.”
