Some really large excavators used in mines are electric iirc.
And electric trains are definitely a thing. The problem there is installing and paying for all of the infrastructure. Electric trains are not battery powered due to the insane current demands, so they are supplied by an overhead system called catenary generally.
A few class one railroads have studied electrifying some high density and/or mountain lines and for private enterprise the benefits have not outweighed the costs.
