Please explain that pitch to first base when he was off the bag. I don’t know that rule.

The first baseman left the base. Once he leaves, you can't throw it there.

The ball must be thrown to an occupied base. The first baseman was not on the base

it is a balk to throw to base that's unoccupied by fielder

it is an automatic balk if the pitcher has contact with the rubber and throws to the first baseman or third baseman who is in front of or behind the base and obviously not making an attempt to retire the runner at that base.
