Yea, I have no idea how people watch anything foreign with dubs

They're really sticking to old Norse mythology.(Loki giving birth to a serpent), the old gods having very specific purposes , the "giants" or "titans" as other beings
its written for that Euro audience

I just can't do dubbed shows. Do they have an available version in original language with subtitles?
Posted on 6/1/21 at 3:00 pm to CatfishJohn
Yes, they have subtitles. I didn't even know the show was dubbed.

Watched the first couple episodes of this yesterday. That whole school dance scene in ep 2 was weird as frick. I’m into it though

It'll make sense in Season 2.

modern retelling of the birth of Jörmungandr, or the Midgard Serpent. Deemed as of the most terrifying creatures in Norse mythology, Jörmungandr is a giant in the form of a mightly serpent, responsible for triggering Ragnarok, or the end of the world. Representing an ouroboros, Jörmungandr harkens cyclical violence, along with the themes of destruction and rebirth - a process that is triggered when the serpent uncoils itself and moves towards land.

On episode 2 of season one my take so far:
They got some homely looking people in Denmark or wherever it is shot. The brother of the main character looks like the lead singer of The Cure also. Anyway I am enjoying the show so far

Unfortunately in season 2 they push every SJW button, LGBT, migrants, climate change, etc.
This is otherwise a great show.

The fictional town is named 'Edda'. Also, I noted that in the Amazon movie Mortal, the story takes place in or around Odda.

I tried to watch it and the dubbing drove me crazy. I have a hard time watching dubbed shows, I think I would prefer just subtitles.

On the last ep of season 1 and I’m hooked. As a huge fan of Vikings this is scratching the itch
Side note: Norway is beautiful, may have to plan a trip there soon

If you're looking for something along the same lines after Ragnarok, and you have Amazon, I suggest ' Mortal '.

Does anyone else have a thing for the mother and daughter?

Just finished season 2 and really hope we get a season 3. Magne punched his V card like a champ!

I think it's a bad show, but i'm addicted to it, and stuck waiting for a 3rd season to see what finally happens.
I watch it, because i love mythology, and greek and Norse are the best.
But it is bad.

Well, it's not MCU level production, if that's what you mean. But the way I look at it, Thor's story belongs to these people, so who else to tell it like only they can ? Most of us have only a Hollywood / Comic book idea of Thor, Loki and that world. It's actually quite old and ( I imagine ) some still believe in those religious views.
And yes, Saxa is a smoke show.
