You have my respect

That's far enough outside of standard that it's shockingly impressive.

Iberville trailer park? I mean, it is saving some nice houses.. In Iberville parish.

If I was ranking Ascension, EBR, Iberville & Livingston it would be as followed

Ascension
Iberville
EBR
Livingston

To your credit: a) 44 ain't chopped liver b) you at least have the testicular fortitude to post your results here for everyone to see.

I had some free time this afternoon and took the 100 question version of the test. My score was slightly better than on the 50 question version. I feel like this is because the difficulty of questions did not change and I was able to gain a marginal amount of time on the easy questions and answer a greater proportion of the total questions. When I scored 46/50 I only made it through 47 questions. For the 100 question version I made it through 98. So my correct answer percentage was better on the 50 question version, but my gross score was "better" on the 100 question version.

If I remember right, it's 145-160ish

46 is a deviation of 10 higher.

Try to score a zero.

Give the Iberville Parish Pres a new Miss River Bridge in exchange for allowing the water to drain through his parish.

Do the people in EBR not understand that Spanish lake is not a natural flood plain for EBR? It is not intended to have Manchac pump thousands of gallons into it for days on end with no way to be removed. These problems didn't arise until EBR refused to follow any drainage mitigation, hydrology studies, and just rubber stamped permits. We're seeing all of Burbank swamp being filled with 6' of dirt for cookie cutter houses, where Bayou Fountains flood plain has existed for centuries. Now since EBR is filling up the swamps and flood plains, that water has no where to go but down to Manchac, and overtop the natural levee into Spanish Lake where it doesn't belong!

If Broome and the people of EBR are concerned about flooding, they should DEMAND a construction moratorium in this area until new solutions and standards are implemented. Until then, we fine folks of Iberville don't intend to pay the price for your sins!

Great video of Mitch Ourso being a leader!

Hard not to sympathize with Mitch in this instance.

Choose where you live with current and future leaders in mind.

Sharon is just pissed she leads a government that runs out of a key mailing after “10 envelopes”, and had a jurisdiction (St George) secede under her watch.

In the larger scheme, another failure on JBE to develop a comprehensive regional watershed plan. As discussed in prior threads, low impact development policies should have put in place in South Louisiana 15 years ago. Should have required 100 years storm on site capture/retain 48 hours if not (LID), which would require massive land loss for detention ponds and force LID.

Orleans Parish is estimated 80% impervious today, EBR probably 60% now. There is nowhere for water to go after storms but rapid sheet flow high to low ground. Every new development or new single family home built only makes the problem worse.

Congrats Ourso, you've got me on the side of Broome on an issue. I didn't think it could be done.

Your on Broome’s side of the issue because your on Broome’s side of the Aquadam.

Looking at the map.... what about proposing the region pay for a diversion pipeline or canal leading to the MS River? I would think Pumps should be adequate to keep levels reasonable enough. This isn't NOLA, we can handle pumps

A drainage canal in to MS River? The 4th longest river in the world and Top 10 in discharge?

With typical flow rate, what you suggest the MS would immediately scour that canal and flow from the MS river into Spanish Lake and inundate the region and beyond. Waters that flow into the MS are major tributaries like the Missouri and Ohio, not some offshoot canal from Spanish Lake to alleviate a few miles of Aquadams!

BUT: there is a capacity to the flood plain as created by God. When EBR, who is upstream, just says "frick it...let spanish lakes deal with it" and builds with little to no control over water shedding, that's a problem.

This guy gets it. I know the area well and know older fella on machac rd whose family has lived on same property for hundreds of years, yes hundreds. Old man I know in his 80’s has only seen water like this in 2016. In his lifetime and information from previous family homesteaders 2016 was the worse and only time ever having water come
Close to getting in home.

What’s change? He lives on same property, bayou machac still there, Spanish like isn’t new, Amite, comite, etc etc.
what’s change in as Tulane but above. Builders like dsld and many others building developments off Burbank, Lexington estates, U club, neighborhood behind community center off hwy 30 in st Gabriel recently build in swamp.. greedy developers snatching up whatever land available to build on. Tear down 100 acres between Walmart on Burbank and brec soccer fields that was a wooded swamp to build a neighborhood??!
We have created a concrete jungle, replaced watershed areas with trees and ability to soak up water to concrete slabs that create run off.

That’s your issue and who you need to point finger at. Not people who have lived in this are for years with no Issues.

Oh well since that's what you think then it must be true.

Believe me or not I don't really care, but I haven't created (or had someone create one for me so they can watch me "frick with" the board") in years.. Its been 10-12 years since I created an alter.. Ask an admin if they can see when people last created an alter.

But hey.. You know it all you arse kissing son of a bitch.

Are the ones who get power fricked the most out of all of this and get the least attention. Everybody buys these houses in these swamp developments and then get pissed off when their shite floods and go kick and scream on the news.

The water touched the corner of my grandma's house this week for the first time ever. My family has been in that spot for generations. The unbridled development free for all has created a monster that cannot be contained. Time to spend some of all of that fresh tax revenue "they" wanted so damn bad to solve the fricked up problems "they" created.

But I am glad you are judging how I was raised based on the fact I called you a know it all arse kissing son of a bitch..
