So not a single person in this thread who has sleep apnea is fat, despite the condition being overwhelming associated with obesity.

No question obesity is a factor in sleep apnea as it is in anything else.
I lost from 240 to 210 and the lower weight has not only helped with my apnea but with blood pressure, my feet, etc.
But you can be skinny and still have sleep apnea. Get the machine if necessary it could save your life.

I posted this before, but I did a palate expander (an expanding retainer) and had a tongue tie correction. Some people, like myself, have a genetic defect where your range of motion is restricted by a flap of tissue. Your tongue is tied to the floor of your mouth. The expander grew my jaw.

Together, it cured my apnea.

Just got prescribed a cpap, did the at home sleep study last week and the doctor told me I stopped breathing over 200 times. That was kind of a shock, I figured I had sleep apnea but didn’t know I stopped breathing that much.

Hope it does the trick, my wife just kicked me out of bed last night because my snoring woke up the baby.
