Depends on the recruits intelligence. A Vandy diploma means a lot to some people.
I don't know how heavily Chris Williams was recruited, but he became a No1 draft choice as an OL.

Very true. Academics is the one angle Vanderbilt can really push over other SEC schools.
Chris Williams was a 2 star recruit that was barely recruited. I graduated from his high school and did not even realize he was a possible pro player until the draft talk started up.
My accounting teacher used to always talk about him in class...so thats the only reason I recognized his name. She had always said he was very smart, hence, his choice of colleges.
C. Williams name was/is never brought up with the likes of Major Applewhite, Warrick Dunn, or Travis Minor. Maybe that will change with his #14 overall selection.
