I wonder if the dealer wasn't using the correct DexosD 0W-20 oil? My manual specifically states not to use anything else. When I scheduled my first oil change the dealership didn't even have any in stock. Had to reschedule and wait for them to get some in.

Finding that stuff has been the biggest pain in the arse so far. I've yet to find it in O'reilly/AutoZone/Advance etc..

I've been getting it at the dealership( ) for $7 a quart. Not terrible for synthetic I guess. I can change the oil in it myself for under $60.

Thats not bad at all. Oil change + fuel filters etc is well over $300 to DIY with parts counter pricing for my 6.7 cummins.

Picked up my 3.0 duramax sierra Sunday. I freakin love the truck. Still trying to get all the features set up the way I want it. Next is to start looking for a good bed cover.

Got the Silverado Friday. Leveling and swapping tires this Friday. Same boat as you, trying to figure out bed cover. Maybe the retrax again or the truxedo like someone mentioned the other day.

I’m considering the Bakflips. My uncle has one and likes it. I’ll have to check those out.

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised. Haven’t had to do the fuel filter yet, but I’d be surprised if it pushed the combined cost of an oil/oil filter/fuel filter changer over $100.

I had the 6.75 bed on my last truck so I didn’t mind losing the foot or so from the retrax, but on the short bed I don’t think I want to lose that. I don’t like the backflip and either having to flip it up blocking my rear view or taking it off if I needed the full bed. Going to check out the truxedo asap.

A little off topic but I’m in a rental truck this week and I’m pleasantly surprised at how peppy the 5.3 is. Seems quicker than my 5.7 Tundra in fact, probably due to weight and smaller tires. My dads 5.3 seemed sluggish but this one is quick. Still would opt for the 6.2 of course.

I got a '21 Sierra with the 3.0 D-max and I love it. Awesome low end torque, but it takes 2-3 business days to go 60-80. I run a ton of highway miles a year, so the fuel economy was a big seller for me. I have done a little offroading too, and the 3.0 does really well in the muddy hills.
