They likely gave O the big contract because his original contract likely stipulated that "should he win a natty he would be paid X amount of dollars, etc."

That's why. Its just a logical guess.

Wow they are really working hard. Sending a text asking for money.
Hopefully Ryan Clark can write them a check to cover the loss.

I hate that you made me say it

So it had nothing to do with how much money was lost from fans not being able to attend games? OK. Donations cannot be designated as a loss. Donations are a contribution. They mentioned a $12 mil loss. They are clearly relating this to lost revenue.

Good. With tuition costs and price gouging after Emperor Obama decided the government needed to guarantee loans so every dipshit on earth could take on massive debt getting their gender studies degrees there’s no excuse for any extra money being sent to the academic side of side of things. The only reason they’d be short is mismanagement or fraud. frick em

Couldn’t possibly be social stances that a majority of donors disagree with could it nor piss poor performances by the football and baseball team. Btw I’m not saying COVID wasn’t the primary and biggest factor either.

LSU sports gets any more woke and TAF will see some real losses. Also, what the hell is TAF doing giving money for no athletic scholarships? If I wanted to give money to that I would give directly to the University. If people gave to TAF they want it to go to sports.

Hasn’t it been known forever that TAF transfers millions to LSU academic side?

I’ve stopped all non-mandatory donations. It started with cutting the gridiron club when Orgeron was hired due to feeling that my money was no longer valued. I dropped the rest this past year with all the blm bullshite. The tigers United (what amounts to an athletics union) will likely put the final nail in the coffin. There is no doubt in my mind any sort of mild grievance comes around they will use their power to threaten the university, athletic dept, etc. These guys right now are really in the midst of killing the golden goose. I’ve maybe missed 5 home games since 1998, and frequently traveling to 2-3 away games/yr I can now see myself stepping away completely if the university’s behavior persists. It’s just getting to the point where it isn’t worth it.

TAF makes money off of season tickets and parking passes that have a TAF contribution associated with them. Tradition Fund contributions go directly to the athletic department. Most tickets are Tradition Fund, but TAF controls most (if not all) of the premium seating in Tiger Stadium - e.g. Stadium Club.

So while this portion of TAF’s revenue technically qualifies as “donations,” it’s really part of the ticket cost.

I have no idea what percentage of their decline in revenue is associated with season ticket contributions vs. actual donations. But it would not surprise me if season ticket contributions were the largest factor.

TAF is an LSU athletics organization. I would expect their money be used solely for the betterment of our athletic programs. not chemistry scholarships

For better or for worse, I see no problem when the sports arm of the university gives back to the academic side. I do have a problem when the academic side (liberal academics) bites the hand that feeds by bitching about athletics role in a university and comparing their salary to a coaches salary.

This is fantastic news. This is how you force leftists to move on. You quit funding their ability to indoctrinate and spread their hatred.

Not to get political on the rant but I’m going to anyway... this needs to happen in all facets not just football... the woke left are being funded by the non-retards of the country and they’re getting away with it.

Enough.
