They charge us by the CF (cubic foot) About 4,300 CF. Yes, we may look into it as it's highway robbery.
I imagine that part of the business is dying since electronic records have been replacing paper for the last 20 years.

I've worked with software companies who continue to pay these guys to store litteral code print outs just in case... i didn't think this was a thing but they keep paying the insane bill from these guys.
Definitely a temp worker with some oversight situation to handle vs paying that much.

That is an outrageous estimate and I bet quotes elsewhere will be only 30% of Iron Mtn's estimate.
They're either banking on you not wanting to deal with moving it or there's something in the storage contract pertaining to your rights of disposal if ending the contract early. I've seen this w/ a similar shredding/storage firm.
