The main thing setting Tenner apart from us is their two non-conference wins over top 15 NET opponents in Colorado and Kansas. Also, they don’t have a loss as bad as Georgia.

If we’d have just beaten Saint Louis and Texas Tech...

Regardless of what happens vs Alabama today I think LSU’s lack of a good non-conference win is going to keep them about 1 seed lower than they “should” be”.

But remember, it is more about matchups than seeds. I’d rather see LSU be 7 in a group of teams who they matchup well against than a 6 in a group of teams they don’t

tenn played a hell of a game against bama yesterday and they were missing fulkerson. they're still a really good bball team.

I think I prefer the 6 seed path

Playing an 11

A 3

Then a 2

Obviously this is without upsets. Thats ideal IMO.

He may be right, but Lunardi has a horrible bracket prediction record - he’s ranked 54th on Bracket Matrix’s bracketologist accuracy rankings. I don’t know how he still has a job!

I’m just happy that we are not having to sit around hoping for other teams to lose, to see if we can at least get into the tournament. Too many seasons like that under JJ and TJ.

Who finished behind LSU in the SEC standings, did not make it as far in the SEC Tournament as LSU, and lost to LSU the only time they played each other.

Win today and we are a 4 or 5!

The NET ranking is the main metric used by the committee for seeding teams. LSUs NET ranking is 28, updated thru games played yesterday. That correlates to a 7 seed.

We deserve a 6 seed with a win today. A 5 seed would be an extremely favorable seeding for us by the committee.

ETA and yes, anyone who thinks we get a 4 doesn’t know how seeding in the ncaat works

I've been a Tigah since 1977, and if you checked my post history, you will never find a post about me complaining about announcer bias against us. Although I complain about refs, it's almost always due to incompetence, not anti- LSU.

However, there has been a LONG history of the committee SCREWING LSU in the seeding process. I can't remember a year when I thought we caught a break by a seed or two. There have been numerous times we were knocked down a line or two. I think Dale being at war with the NCAA has cost us in the past, and the "cloud" we're under with Wade probably continues it.

Regarding the cloud, it seems to me we would have received an NOA by now, not had Javonte reinstated (and played two more years), and not had our case referred to a third party if they had the goods on us.

of course net does not hold those things in as high a regard as it does the entire body of work, in which case, you can make a case that tenn could be slightly higher than lsu. namely, in beating col and kan. plus, lsu's uga loss was pretty bad.

in the end, all of that doesn't matter. just get in the tourney and play your best ball of the season. lsu's doing that and you can't ask for much more.

7 is chalk in my mind at this point.

A 6 would be a nice surprise.

I would rather be a 6 than a 4 or 5. Big difference this year between the 1 seeds and the 2's. Not much of a difference between the 3's and 4's. Avoid the 1 as long as possible

I get the NET ranking and non con wins, but..... in college basketball with so many teams that have FR as their best players, teams get much better as the season goes on.

Most good college basketball teams in Feb & Mar are nothing like they were in Nov & Dec.

Overall Conference play should hold far more weight over W/L results in Nov & Dec, especially when comparing teams in the same conference. Tennessee should never get a better seeding than LSU based on overall play since Jan 1 and head to head result. Last 1/2 of the season should hold FAR more weight than the first 1/2.

They lost to Auburn like two weeks ago who had a worse record than UGA. So that's not true.

The truth is that their NET ranking has been high since they beat Kansas by more than 15 points which winning big adds another factor in NET rankings. It's honestly stupid that the one result against a good Kansas team has kept Tennessee's NET ranking so high all season.
