How does a guy like Peetz build a playbook?

We know he has never been an OC. How does the process go of building his scheme, if he never had his own?
Does he take the playbook from a coach he has worked under? Or do most new coordinators use the scheme they played under? Does he sit at a desk and just draw up a bunch of plays and give them a name?
I am just curious. Not trying to be a dick about it.

I believe it will begin with Joe Brady's 2019 playbook and build from there.

He's likely been slowly building one on his own over the course of his career taking inspiration from every one he's coached/played under. I would have a tough time believing we hired a guy with nothing that resembles a playbook.

How does an architect draft his own floor plan if they’ve never drafted their own before?
I guarantee you the architect has been in buildings, seen other floor plans, and worked with other architects before to build buildings.
It’s not like the guy has never been a football coach until now.

Most ambitious coaches I have been around have been working on their playbooks during their tenure as position coaches. They build it up and tweak it as they learn more.

He not only likely has a Rolodex of plays already in his head, he probably has the physical playbooks from all the places he has coached

You are thinking of playbooks as in what you did in youth football. Modern offensive schemes are incredibly fluid. They are based on what the defense gives. All programs run similar stuff the ones that have athletes and coaching to take advantage of what they are given succeed. The ones that “run plays” generally fail pretty quickly

There are basic plays that almost every offense runs. Not many brand new plays out there now a days. Question is will our offense learn new play calls or will he adjust to the play calls we have been running

Offensive systems and plays have already been created over time. So you will see pretty much the same plays implemented as any other similar system. The difference comes in when the coaches make little tweaks to already designed plays and also use different personnel. That's why you always hear, so and so is running his version of west coast system for example

Honestly, he probably has a huge database of plays and an offensive philosophy that he favors.
He'll take a look at what talent he has, what they do well, what they don't do well, the level of complexity they can handle, and the defensive schemes across the league and build his season playbook based on that.

How does any OC build a scheme? The same way everyone else does. It's not like this is his first coaching position.
