Typically true for all areas. It is a government regulated monopoly. One exception is Texas where one company manages the distribution network, but your Power Company can be many different choices and they have several different rates and programs for different rates.

Now you could get stuck with this option where you pay the spot rate for electricity which was a one point 6.88 a kWH. That price can fluctuate down to almost free. But Jesus, 6.88 a KWH is an arse raping.

Are you talking $6.88? That is lower than the wholesale price right now. And last night I started thinking that is the true reason for the outages.

It’s honestly the same in Texas. The distributors are all just a marketing game and the real company is the utility company when it comes down to getting serviced, setups, repairs. They still the boss.
