He called Mac Jones "Smith" at one point. I know he used the wrong name for OSU players 2-3 times. Finally, when the game ended he started to call Alabama the "Conference Champions."

He also shouted hat trick after Devonta Smith's second td and later corrected himself.

I swear he messed up the first 4-5 names he tried to pronounce once the game got started. Thought I heard a Javonte in there

Fowler is really bad at play-by-play.

He was a great host of gameday. Idk why they decided to make him their primetime guy.

Fowler and Herbie are incredibly unprofessional. When they realized a beat down was coming they didn't even hide how pissed they were.

Said Smith was from Little Amite and when Ohio State was on offense and one of their olineman got injured he said another OSU dlineman goes down. And then Herby repeated it.

They messed up a bunch in last year's title game too, which was even worse because it was actually a legitimate title as well.

It was a bad call for him last night for sure. As others have pointed out though, the level of talent of PBP guys everywhere just isn’t what it used to be.

He also said that we were watching the ‘national semifinal’. He corrected himself on that one, too.

I actually generally really enjoy Fowler calling games. He tries to make them sound exciting, which I appreciate. But yeah, last night was not his best effort.

At the beginning of the game, he referred to Alabama’s defense as the “Tigers.”
