This speech still gives me goosebumps. One of the great orators of modern times, and (in my opinion) the last truly great president this country has had. It is definitely worth a listen if you’ve never heard it, many of the points in this speech still hold true to this day. LINK

His best speech in my opinion. And he gave this at a Goldwater fundraiser before he had any political aspirations.
Some folks who were there wondered if Reagan would be a better nominee than Goldwater.

Last Statesman we have had as President. Bush the elder, possibly but not on Reagan's level.
