It’s like dating your best friend. If it works, awesome. If not, what happens to Raymond? He wouldn’t stay here if he didn’t do well. And O needs someone to do well.

Coach Raymond situation is no different than Coach Peetz’s with no experience calling plays. We have the same issue with both parties, but there is so much bias towards Raymond being given a shot like Peetz by fans.

He knows exactly what Coach O wants to do on defense. Just like Coach Peetz knows what Coach O wants on offense, and many of us as fans are alright with a new OC with no play calling experiences.

Let’s cut out favoritism.

The players gravitated so much towards Joe Brady because he was young and relatable. If we bring in somebody who was older like Bo Palini or Coach E, we’re going to see the same results. But finding somebody who is young and is a superstar is not that easy

I think he would take the DC job at LSU but he is also not one to actively go after it. He’s happy where he is and if they want to move him up great if not then oh well I’ll continue being great where I am.

He’s a rarity in the coaching world but there are a lot of people like him in the real world. Great workers and great at what they do but won’t actively push for more. Unfortunately they are passed up by lesser workers because they speak up more and seem more ambitious.

Exactly. I think he’s the defensive version of Ensminger. Loves LSU. Loves being around the program. Loves coaching. But doesn’t necessarily need or want anything more. However, he will do whatever is asked of him for the betterment of the program.

Just my sense of it.

This would also appease the SJW's and their leader, Ryan Clark.

Who gives a frick about those racist. Liberals are so hell bent on covering up their racism that now any time a black person gets a job it is assumed they got it because they are black and not because they are the most qualified. Sad really.

risk of Raymond as DC

If Richard was the only option, 100000000% yes.

I dont think that CR wants to be a DC. My opinion is not a knock on him it just stems from how utterly disappointed I'd be in Richard as the DC hire.

That said, I strongly believe that Coach Freeman is LSU's DC and all this hypothetical is moot...no sauces here, but stand by for GREAT news. GDT's

I think we ought to go after Pruitt I don’t believe he will be at Tennessee very much longer.

No. If he was a DC candidate he’d have been hired for an up-the-ladder position by now. NO!

We don't know if Raymond would be a good DC. He could be, but I just don't see it worth taking the chance considering how awful last year was with a "proven" name.

If Raymond started at a smaller school and balled out, absolutely.

So, how many of these threads are fans legitimately asking and how many of these are started by shills for the administration to soften up the fanbase?

There were definitely shills softening up the fanbase at O's hire and E's promotion.
