This team will never be better than mediocre as long as Lonzo gets starters minutes. He brings a team down so much with his inconsistent shooting, defense and inability to score on the drive

You post this thread when he's playing well? Bledsoe is the one that's the liability on offense right now brah.

I strongly disagree.

You are blind if you can’t see Zo’s development. Only thing is consistency and he’ll be a star.

And JJ is 0-2, Hart is 0-2, Bledsoe is 0-4, no need for you to make that claim

I’m drunk so ban me but this is the type of dumb arse low iq I know nothing about basketball post that gets posted after every loss, that doesn’t get called out, while people preach patience with Jaxson.

First off we have no backup bigs. Jaxson Hayes was -9 in three minutes. Melli is completely worthless as well when his shot isn’t falling.

Lonzo was bad, but Bledsoe and JJ were every bit as bad, if not worse. Bledsoe had so many awful turnovers. JJ was -27 ffs. -27.

Lonzo is inconsistent, but we played 9 guys, and 5 played like complete dog shite, but for some reason, Lonzo is the one that gets called out after every game.

Of the guards that played like dog shite, pretty sure Lonzo makes by far the least amount of money.

Lonzo on a rookie deal is not the problem. If your argument is he’s not worth the money long term, then fine. If your argument is Lonzo on his rookie deal is the reason we suck, then you’re a fricking idiot.

I think the problem we will run into if Lonzo can not become a consistent three point shooter(or by some miracle, Bledsoe) is that in a vacuum each player is fine, solid defenders, can move the ball and occasionally hit jumpers and get to the rim.

But paired together and their high variance runs the risk much more than pairing either with a more consistent 3 and D guard of having nights like this where they go 4 for 18 combined and we are essentially playing 2 on 5 with Ingram and Zion. We need guys that when Zion and Ingram are getting swarmed, or when Adam’s sets a hard screen for Ingram and the defense sells out to close out on Ingram and Zion, that our two starting guards can make them pay.

Need to get Adams more involved on pick and rolls as well. Dude is a good scorer, we just haven’t asked him to do much of that yet

Honestly I think I'd prefer to see Lonzo and JJ as our starting guards and let Bledsoe run the "second team".

But it's still early so I'm willing to be patient and see how things go in these first 10 games.

But I like what Lonzo is doing. I like how he plays with the starters a lot more than what Bledsoe is doing, so I don't think it's Lonzo who should be going to the bench.

Ball reminds me of Vinnie Barbarino out there on the court esp when he shoots the ball. Looks just like him.

I say keep getting some more data and tape and then play around.

Personally I think there’s a case both ways.

With Bledsoe and JJ you have two legit half court facilitators in Bledsoe and Ingram and the additional, reliable, outlet spacer Bledsoe desperately lacks with his play style. Bledsoe is also currently the better and more consistent defender.

With Lonzo you are going to be leaning a lot more on Ingram as your half court facilitator which Wednesday showed might not be a bad thing, with Ingram then having one great and one streaky outlet option in JJ and Lonzo as opposed to two streaky, neither well respected by defenders shooters. But that lineup than consequentially lacks the additional perimeter playmaker that is nice to have to use Adams elite screen setting and set Ingram and Zion up off ball. As Lonzo is not good shooting off the dribble(Bledsoe is) or in the half court and Reddick isn’t a PnR ball handler.

All three choices have benefits and trade offs and I think it’s simply going to take time to find out which combination works best.

Bledsoe has been worse but that doesn't mean Lonzo hasn't been an offensive liability. He's shooting 35% from the field and averaging as many turnovers, 4, as assists in this short sample size. He needs to settle down in transition, I feel like his turnovers are the most frustrating because they are so easily preventable.

He's getting to the line more and has seemingly improved from there (67%); and he's maintaining his 3 point percentage from last year, those are the positives.

His defense has been outstanding as well. Thats been overlooked by people who only wants to focus on his offense. I am much more optimistic with his offensive development since he's showing some things that weren't there last season. It's been 2 games and the majority of his shots has been from deep. That is obviously going to affect his overall fg percentage but his 3 point percentage is holding up from last season which is good news.

Not sure whats going on with Bledsoe. He is definitely hustling. As far as Ball, it is not so much as the missed shots as it is the instinct as to when to shoot. Some of his shots or 3's seem to come out of nowhere or ill timed.

I'd rather see someone willing to take the shot than what happened at the end of the last game where everyone looked timid and kept passing on shots and dumping the ball off with 2-3 seconds left.
