Was that because Yoda trained him personally, because Ahsoka has been doing it a lot longer than Luke.

quote:I agree. In fact, it would almost be impossible not to include Luke in this story taking place between RotJ and TFA. The kid has Jedi powers, other Jedi are entering into the picture, and there is no one who would be more sympathetic to the only other Degobite (or whatever his race is) that has been seen.
It made sense he was the one who showed up after the "call" from Grogu.
There's no way Luke wouldn't be involved in this story somehow.
Also, I think Pedro was being too much of a narcissistic actor in demanding more face time without the helmet. It would have been a much more powerful moment between Mando and the kid if we hadn't already seen him do it twice before.

Can you imagine a scene with Luke and Ahsoka tearing arse through an imperial battalion? After what we saw from them in their respective episodes, it would be incredible. The son and apprentice of the chosen one tearing down the last remnants of the empire. That’s enough to make a grown man cry.

I thought for sure this was going to happen.

Yeah I think they missed a good opportunity there. Only somewhat negative I have to say about the episode. I expected to see the ball as well.
Could have given it to him and said he’d be back for it, then at some point have the razorcrest rebuilt and have that be the moment they reunite.

The gear shift knob will have way more resonance when Padawan Grogu returns towards the end of next season.
ETA: Imagine the chips are down and The Mandalorian and his team are defeated and near death. The small metal ball falls out of his pocket and rolls across the floor to a stop. It begins to shake, then rises from the floor slowly before floating motionless. It zips through the air out of the camera frame. Cut to a small green hand holding the gear shift knob. Camera pulls back to reveal Grogu, Ahsoka, and Luke Skywalker. Skywalker and Ahsoka activate their lightsabers, Grogu closes his eyes and extends his free hand forward...

I’m rock hard.

Obviously the whole episode was great and I agree with many others here where it’s probably the best thing to ever happened to Star Wars since 1983. The only other thing I would’ve added is maybe one of the dark troopers shooting at Luke and he couldn’t block it with a saber because he was deflecting another one and he used his mechanical hand to block the blazer blast, like Darth Vader in Empire strikes back. But again that’s just me trying to get two orgasms at once. LOL

You have to look at it through the lens of the only other of this species that we know, Yoda. We know that Yoda was a Jedi Master training other Jedi by the time he was 100. Grogu at the time of the academy destruction will be just over 70. If we can assume that Yoda and Grogu matured at the same rate, then the speed of maturation has to jump exponentially from 50-100
This is something I’ve wondered throughout this series. Yoda is wise and the head of the order and I’ve always attributed that to his age. Do we know that Grogu is “aged” 50 years? When he is introduced in season one and said to be 50 years old I’ve always wondered if he was in stasis or some form of suspended animation for many of those years. I’ve always assumed their species just lives long rather than develops at a slower rate. Possible I’ve missed something on the show or other content but that’s my take on Grogu.

Grogu is the same age as Anakin SkyWalker

I get that he has a birth date and he is “50”. I just choose to believe he was put in stasis by a Jedi to get him through order 66 or something to that effect. How else would he make it to this point in the timeline? If he was not in stasis all this time someone would have had to care for him all that time. Just my theory until something says otherwise. I could be missing something though as I haven’t followed any books, comics, etc since Disney torpedoed the EU canon.

Who were you hoping for?
Literally anyone else, tbh
Continuing to focus on the Skywalker family and/or those immediately adjacent to it seems arbitrarily limiting when you’ve got a whole galaxy full of sentient life forms to work with
Live-action Star Wars, ESPECIALLY since the sequel trilogy has come out, has focused on everything BUT the Skywalker family.
Sequels were about Rey, an outsider (and ultimately a Palpatine). Skywalkers- Luke was a non-entity in Ep 7, and a disappointment in 8. Leia was always just a cameo. Ben/Kylo was a villain.
Rogue One has some Vader in it, but not in the main storyline.
Solo is completely "others".
Mandalorian has been about Mando, adding in some of the other peripherals.
We literally have not seen Luke in action outside the OT, until this episode in this one show.

I don't care about that as much as Boba Fett just flat murdering the frick out of him as he was trying to talk his way out of it. No discussion. No hesitation. Round to center of mass and Boba took his throne.
Boba Fett is still a fricking mercenary badass.

You disappoint Yaddle, sir.
EDIT: Also, let's not forget that Yaddle was a female. How many heads would explode if it came out next season that Yoda got his freak on and Grogu is his son?

We are getting Mando season 3 right? The book of fet is another spin off correct? Not season 3?

I don’t think there has been an official word from LucasFilm but the speculation is it’s a miniseries or film leading up to Mando season 3.
