That stuff is overblown IMO. Yeah, it happened and could have been handled a bit differently, but it’s not the reason we suck on the field.
It’s way down the list of reasons for this season (and program) turning into a dumpster fire.
1. Insurmountable player losses/irregular offseason
2. Lazy players/coaches that got complacent after title
3. Bad DC hire/Bad defense
4. Offensive issues made worse by QB injury
5. shite team and shite season and everybody half-asses it and doesn’t care once the season was in the toilet
6. All of the above leading to more player losses/opt-outs
It’s been a perfect storm of shite.
there are A LOT of things that led to this, but at the end of the day it’s Orgeron’s job to navigate circumstances and put a respectable product on the field. Even though some of the things that have happened were out of his control, the ultimate accountability for results goes back to him...it’s just how it is, and that’s what all good coaches know and signed up for when they sign a contract with a big boy program.
