If ASU makes the leap in 2011 to the BCS division of the NCAA...
What conference will ASU petition to join?
What type of time frame will ASU expect before they go bowling?
Who would be your rivals?
Would you still recruit the same athletes?

Not an ASU fan but I think it would go like
1) They join the Big East.
2) I think they could make it to their first bowl within 3 years.
3) North Carolina and Louisville. With a game against one of their FCS rival teams every year.
4) They could. The Spread is an easy way to become good fast.

Here's a story from the Orlando Sentinel but I think this is just one person's idea:
LINK
"Let's say you are the czar of college football sometime early in the next decade, and you have the power to radically make over the game in a decade marked by both challenge and opportunity.
Your mission: Maximize revenue for the most prominent schools, strengthen television exposure in a competitive 500-channel world and monetize the Web. You must do this in an era of gazillion-dollar coaching salaries and facilities wars. You must do this amid a still struggling economy and $6-a-gallon (or much more) gasoline. You must achieve this in the face of continual strain on university resources on both the academic and athletic fronts.
What do you do?"....
"SUN BELT (14)
The Sun Belt strengthens its presence with new or upgraded programs in strong mid-sized markets. It will remain a popular league on SEC schedules and will find a niche as a Southern version of the MAC.
East: Appalachian State, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Furman, *Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Middle Tennessee"
Most ASU fans would not want to go to the Sun Belt. I would prefer ACC because it would keep the games close to home for us. Any chance you guys are gonna have any room for us in the SEC in the next few years? :)

I wouldn't want to make the jump if it mean going to the sun belt/CUSA. Id like Big East or preferably ACC.
It wouldn't be long before we would go bowling...
Going to a bowl is becoming less and less amazing with these 6-5 teams in bowls.
Wake Forest would be a good rival, weve won like our last 6 meetings i believe and they won't play us anymore. Probably Marshal since they used to be in our conference.
Just being an ACC or Big East school wed naturally get better recruits but I supposed that would take a number of years to take shape. If we went CUSA or Sun Belt I wouldn't expect a great leap in quality of recruits.
