Louisiana HAS to diversify its economy. This is the first major oil related domino to fall but won’t be the last.
Oil contributes to a number of products that are still very vital but those producers will shrink over the next century. We must adapt or we will face the same type of economic crash the “rust belt” states face today

I would offer free land and tax breaks to major tech companies for a 3 year period. Companies that come in that period are the only ones with the breaks. In theory if it takes off more will follow providing jobs, and later an increase in local revenue. With the only loss being state held land and tax revenue they weren't getting anyway.
