Just copped a 70 inck Roku TV that has all kinds of built in stuff that I have no idea how to use ...
Seems like the time is now for me to cut the chord and kick DirectTV to the curb.
Please advise me on what equipment I should supplement this TV with, and what streaming services I need to subscribe to.
I need NFL, and European Soccer access, along with some live TV and news.

Much easier (to me) to manage all of that crap on a tablet or phone and connect through chromecast.

I recommend 2 things:
1. Get YouTube TV for regular television including local channels.
2. Get an Amazon Prime account for free 2 day shipping and a ton of movies and TV shows.

- Get your own modem and router, dont rent from ISP
- Up your internet service (i have family of 5 and have 2TB per month service)
- Use FireTV sticks on all TVs and 3 kids have their video game systems as well
- Streaming subscriptions
—YouTubeTV
— Amazon Prime (already had it)
— Disney+ (Hulu and ESPN included)
— Netflix (already had it)
I still save ~$80 per month from when I had bundled service through ISP amd dvr option with satellite receivers

just get a usenet server account under $10 a month, an nzb index site subscription $10 a year and do a little research to find the live tv site online and you are ready to go.
