Not sure the last time you’ve been to the doctor, but definitely not true anymore.

No, it isn’t. I’ve never seen a single person on Adderall with missing teeth, bad skin, and aged 50 years.

Just follow Biden around. He's bound to drop some before a rally.

Were they smoking or injecting the addys because what you are describing is the look of a meth smoker or shooter. The meth heads who stick to gut bombing and snorting dont have that look.

Re: Energy level

It would be good if you could back that up. I think your best shot would be through a sleep or pulmonary doctor, or a general practitioner if you you have a good relationship. In any case, you will need to convince them of need and that you won't be abusing anything.

The absolutely easiest way to do that is through a sleep apnea study. That might be all the ammo you need, but one thing I would definitely mention is your work conditions if true - "Doc, I am afraid for my job, I am having trouble staying awake and alert. I don't want to lose my job - and I don't want to be dangerous for my co-workers either."

Another thing to do is if discussing Adderall, consider two prescriptions - one in capsule for called Adderall XR which is the extended release, and then normal Adderall. The XR version with a low dose of the normal that can be singled or doubled on top when needed can really help. But only when needed. Adderall doses start at 5mg and go in 5mg increments up to 30mg or so - a smart doctor prescribes a small dosage but large quantity so that you can take what you need and not flood your system every day. An even faster acting version of Adderall is the "IR" version, which stands for immediate release.

And, consider an alternative like Provigil or Nuvigil. These work in a different way and are technically not amphetamines though insurance may classify them the same. Nuvigil is a more recent version of Provigil. With all of them, though, double check against side effects and interactions with other drugs - all of these are slightly different in this regard.

Finally, all of the drugs mentioned have generics available. Straight adderall is very cheap. the others may be classed into a different tier by your insurance company or pharmacy.

Good luck.

Probably because many graduate from Adderall to Meth.

it's harder to find a drug store that can fill the perscription than it is to get a script for it.

Do I just tell the doc I can't focus on shite and lack energy?

Was easy in 2010. Not sure about now. First ask around. See who your adderall addict friends use. Then emphasize that your lack of focus is hindering your job performance. You exercise and eat right and sleep enough but you still just can’t focus.

Depends on the doc. I got a prescription years ago from a psychiatrist. She literally asked what can I do for you. I explained the issues I was having and she was like no dummy what drugs do you want. I was like I was hoping you could tell me but adderall I guess

Seen too many people fall off into a dark abyss with adderall. Stuff is legal cocaine/meth. Extremely addictive and people become way too reliant. Would recommend you try and do mental exercises to get sharper if you're having trouble. Grew up with kids taking it and still do to this day with many issues. Too many pills are being taken. Seems harmless at first but studies are showing lots of problems now

I know this is a troll thread but I don’t see new patients with a primary diagnosis of ADHD. Someone who was taking it is as a child and has the test done by their child psychiatrist I will continue it most times. Lastly, sometimes I’ll use Vyvanse or low dose adderall for depression but not as a first line medication.

Why is this? It used to be simple, every drug store had it. I haven’t had a script for it in 10 years though so I didn’t know that had changed.

There's literally nothing in the active ingredients of Adderall that isn't an amphetamine. It's crazy that this is prescribed to people. There are damn sure countries where it's not, and if you bring it there you'll be arrested

I start my mornings with two fried eggs, bacon, toast, and 3 lines of quality cocaine.

Don't start Adderall. Everyone I know, myself included, that started taking Adderall regretted taking it. I took it for 5 years as prescribed. The first day I had to go to work without meds (couldn't refill the prescription) it was the longest work day I'd ever experienced in my life.

Even if you take it as prescribed, Adderall is very addictive. You will know you're an addict, because everytime you feel a script, you'll feel a little bit of paranoia at that the pharmacy might not fill script before you're out (Pharmacy runs out of adderall, something on the script is not perfect, etc.)

When I stopped taking Adderall, it was hell for about three or four but it took a couple of months before I really felt like myself again. I know two people that had to go to an outpatient rehab to get off Adderall. Addiction is never something you should choose to have in your life.

Now, I eat a healthy balanced diet and walk twice a day. Getting and staying healthy will give you way more focus and energy than Adderall. I'm 48 now and can run circles around my 30 y/o adderall addicted self.

It's been about 10 years since I got mine. I told the psychiatrist that I was there for my ADD and said that I had trouble staying focused on thing throughout the day. Also told him that I find myself coming up with reasons to stop doing whatever it is that I'm supposed to be doing like making a phone call, going to the bathroom or telling a co-worker something that could easily have been done at break or after work. He said it sounded like I had ADHD and gave my 60 twenty mg adderall to start. After a month I told him that it wore off by the time I got home and that I had trouble juggling dinner, household chores and taking care of my daughter so he increased it to 90 a month.
