It contains the rights of free speech and peaceful assembly. So clearly this means peaceful protesting is covered.

Protesting is covered and good to have in a country with this many different views, it's the violent riots that need to be shut down immediately.

Then we should just say you have a right to “assemble”. Why change the terms?

I agree. But many think protest = violent riots.

That's not what you originally posted. You said right to protest isn't on the 1st amendment and it is.

It's implicit that peaceful protests and/or rallies are permissible.

How stupid are you?

This is the type of ignorance that leads to statements like "I don't see AR-15s in the Second Amendment."

Often the same “college educated” bartenders that think bitching then not listening to the other side is “winning” an argument.

Don’t see “right to protest”. It may be splitting hairs but I think “protest” carries a different connotation than what was included by founders.

So now we are splitting hairs based on "Well what our founding Fathers meant was.."

It doesn't work like that.

Smart enough to see you needed to qualify “protest” with “peaceful” in order to make your point.

Lol. I’m actually doing the opposite. What I suggested was returning to the exact words they wrote.
