Instead of cash, take her and one of her friends with you on a really nice vacation, somewhere she would not normally get to go. Yosemite, the Keys, some place like that. Those memories will last far longer than the money.

Yeah i wouldn’t give her a grand. I’d happily give her something, I’m all for showing kids that working hard = rewards, but a stack is too much.

I like this.

Especially because the only value of the cash prize is to build an incentive of working hard gives you rewards.


I imagine the shitty brother will find some way to get his hands on and mooch from the 1k and leave the kid bitter about it.

yes, I’m sure she (and her friend) will forever cherish the memories of being 16 and taking a “really nice” vacation alone with her totally not creepy step-uncle
